If you made PReP bootable pertition on the hard disk of your PReP machine ( for example, /dev/sda2 ) , then Linux can boot from the hard disk. If you want to do this, type the following command.
dd if=/usr/src/linux/arch/ppc/boot/zImage of=/dev/sda2
mount -t proc /proc /proc #------adding from here----- # set synchronus negotiation for SCSI devices echo "setsync 0 25" > /proc/scsi/ncr53c8xx/0 # QUANTUM FIREBALL1080S echo "setsync 5 255" > /proc/scsi/ncr53c8xx/0 # TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-5301TA #----------to here---------- if grep -i nopnp /proc/cmdline >/dev/null ; thenin this case, SCSI ID=0 is Quiantam's hard disk and ID=5 is Toshiba's CD-ROM drive. See /usr/src/linux/drivers/scsi/README.ncr53c8xx for more information.
